THE Middlesbrough Theatre is hosting the North-East area finals of a talent contest for the over-60s for the fourth successive year today. A dozen contestants from across the North-East will be competing for a place in the national final in Southport next month. The contest starts at 2pm and tickets cost £4. COLLECTORS' SALE: A bric-a-brac and collectors' sale is taking place at Stokesley Town Hall, between 10am and 4pm, on Saturday. Proceeds will go towards the town hall restoration and donations will be taken at the door in aid of East Cleveland Lourdes. For more details, call 07771 967012.
COFFEE MORNING: The Mothers' Union Redcar branch will hold a coffee morning with cake and tombola stalls on Saturday, June 18. All proceeds from the event, at Coatham Church Hall, Kirkleatham Street, Redcar, will go to Mothers' Union Overseas. The event is held from 10am to noon with coffee and a biscuit costing 50p.
RESTAURANT STAR: A catering worker from Teesside has beaten 2,000 restaurant staff across the North-East to be named as a top employee. Lynne Bolam, who works at McDonald's restaurant in Stockton, was given the firm's employee of the quarter award.
COFFEE MORNING: Marske and New Marske Pensioners and Friends are holding a coffee morning on Saturday, between 10am and noon, at Marske Leisure Centre. Entrance is 50p, and includes coffee and biscuits.

ECO WALK: Countryside wardens will lead a short walk along the bottom of Eston Hills tomorrow, as part of Operation Eco, a multi-agency initiative to improve the area, on the Bankfields Estate, Eston.
