TWO new police community support officers (PCSOs) will be patrolling Teesdale.
Adam Woodland, 28, and Elizabeth Finn, 41, joined Barnard Castle police last month and have been learning about the area with the help of beat officers.
The PCSOs have been funded through the Home Office and will work with the neighbourhood policing team, dividing their time between the villages and Barnard Castle.
They will be able to seize tobacco and alcohol from underage smokers and drinkers and to take names and addresses of people engaged in anti-social behaviour, enforce parking restrictions and dog fouling laws.
