POLICE are appealing for help after a girl was approached by a man driving a white Ford Escort on Wednesday.
The 14-year-old was walking past St Andrew's Church, in South Church, Bishop Auckland, at about 4.45pm, when the motorist pulled over and quizzed her.
When the girl saw another man walking in her direction she said it was her dad and the man sped off.
The car driver is described as in his late 20s or early 30s, of slim build with short fair hair, stubble and was wearing an orange T-shirt.
