DADS can enjoy a treat this Father's Day by riding the footplate of a steam train.
Darlington Railway Museum, North Road, Darlington, is offering steam enthusiasts the chance to climb aboard with the engine driver while the children ride along behind in the brake guard's van.
All fathers taking part in the Driver for a Fiver event will be given the chance to blow the train's whistle.
Tickets for the event, on Sunday, June 19, must be booked in advance.
Admission is £5 for dad, who will become the driver, £3.50 for other adults and £2.50 for children and other concessions.
The museum is open from 10am with last entry at 4.30pm.
To book a place, call the museum on (01325) 460532.
