THE crew behind the North Atlantic rowing attempt are making good progress, although fatigue is beginning to set in
Nigel Morris and George Rock, of Ingleby Barwick, Stockton, along with fellow crew members Steve Dawson and Rob Munslow, are thinking of their families on their 2,100 mile journey from Canada to England.
Here is their latest report:
"Day 10, so we are into double figures. Another milestone on our adventure.
One of the ways we keep ourselves focused is to constantly set short-term targets, days, miles, degrees crossed etc.
This, combined with the friendly competition between the two pairs as to who has had the best mileage, keeps us pushing out the miles even when we are totally shattered, which is most of the time now.
The past 24 hours have been pretty good for us. Light, southerly winds have not stopped us from rattling off some good miles.
As we write, we are cracking on eastward at about three knots and are being passed by a large container ship on our portside.
The crew has decided to make this Families Day as a tribute to the support our families give us in our venture.
Thank you all the wives, children, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters. We'll see you all soon.
Yours Aye. The Crew.
Keep up to date with the crew's progress with regular reports in The Northern Echo.
