CHILDREN'S artwork will be on display at Darlington tourist information centre this week as part of celebrations to mark national childcare week.
It aims to raise awareness of the good quality childcare available in Darlington.
As part of the celebrations, some childcare groups in the town have joined forces with staff at public buildings including the Town Hall, the Dolphin Centre and Cockerton Library, to put on displays to show what they offer children in the town.
The tourist information centre has been working with children and staff from the Kids and Co Nursery, in Borough Road. There will be a collage of the children's artwork including printing, bubble painting and felt tip drawings on show.
There are 18 day nurseries in Darlington with about 870 places, 18 playgroups with 478 places, 15 nursery schools with 1,080 places and 116 childminders, who look after 618 children.
