A TOWN'S criminals are being warned that they are in for a long, hard summer.
Chief Inspector Gary Stephenson says Cleveland Police promise law breakers in Middlesbrough: "We will not be taking a summer break.''
He was commenting as the total of criminals rounded up by the Operation Sabre anti-crime drive, reached 1,348, while drugs with a street value of £112,608 have been recovered and £22,245 in drugs money, seized.
Mr Stephenson said yesterday: "More raids and operations are planned - and they will continue for a long, long time to come. We have received lots of intelligence from members of the public and that is being used to plan more raids and arrests.
"We know who the criminals are and once the intelligence is developed, we will be going in to arrest them.''
Sabre was an outstanding success, he said, a cornerstone of the force's Putting People First philosophy
