GIRLS at an independent school have put on a display for parents after getting a taste of life on the other side of the Channel.
Pupils from Polam Hall School, in Darlington, welcomed mothers and fathers to an evening to show off what they had learned during a recent trip to Paris.
They served up a supper of cheese or pate with French bread and a glass of wine. The youngsters also entertained their guests with several French sketches and songs.
French teacher Jayne Sedman said: "The girls made me enormously proud by the way they presented themselves, communicating only in French."
