A GROUP of musicians have paid tribute to a colleague - by raising money to help others in his name.
The Atlantic Soul Messengers, of Richmond, held a concert in memory of trumpeter Andy Tyrer, who died of cancer earlier this year.
Andy, who was 41, had been with the band for six years, in which they enjoyed success, supporting Status Quo, Rose Royce and The Proclaimers among others.
The concert, at Richmond Cricket Club, raised £1,352 for Macmillan Cancer Relief. Vocalist Andy Brown, who organised the concert, said: "For those in the band, the Soul Messengers are seen as a family and Andy was part of that family. He is greatly missed."
