PUPILS at Darlington schools began enjoying a week of lessons dedicated to science, design and technology yesterday.
The week has been organised to celebrate the achievements of children at Abbey Junior and Infants' schools in the subjects.
Parents and staff from other schools have also been invited to watch lessons and see displays of the children's work.
The schools have recently worked with businesses such as Cummins, Pizza Express, Asda and Burberry Fashion to help children understand how science and design affect their everyday lives.
Junior school headteacher, George Ford, said: "We hope the children enjoy the week and that the activities give them a better perspective on science, design and technology."
Infants' school head, Elaine McCue, said: "Last year, both schools celebrated the arts with a special week, so this year we decided to look at a different part of the curriculum."
