A CONSULTANCY is creating jobs in the region after winning a number of multi-million pound contracts.
Capita Symonds, in Durham, is taking on six staff. It already employs 15 workers at its offices on the Belmont Business Park and plans to at least double in size soon.
Associate director John Ranson said: "We are looking to grow our staff numbers significantly in the next two years, and are currently recruiting a range of people from senior professional to technician level to work on civil and highway design projects."
It follows contract wins that include a commission from Sunderland City Council to work on the £12m Sunderland Central Route, providing highway design and ground investigations.
The Durham office is part of a consortium that recently won a three-year deal with Darlington Borough Council to provide highways support services.
It is also providing project management and design schemes worth more than £5m.
The company is holding recruitment evenings from 5.30pm to 8pm, at Royal Station Hotel, Newcastle, on June 29, and at the Thistle Hotel, Middlesbrough, on June 30.
