A MAN and his wife in a Teesdale village have been the victims of repeated vandalism.
Police are appealing for information after vandals damaged one of their cars, which was parked at The Green, in Whorlton, near Barnard Castle. The vandals scratched it along its side.
It is the third act of criminal damage against the vehicles of the man and his wife in two weeks.
PC Mick Urwin, of Barnard Castle police, said: "This offence appears completely motiveless and vindictive.
"Since moving into Whorlton four years ago, the owner and his wife have had both their vehicles damaged on numerous occasions.
"No one else in the village has reported any similar damage to their vehicles."
On each occasion, the vehicles were damaged during one period each year.
In 2002, the vehicles were scratched in February, in 2004 in May and June, and again in May and June this year.
Anyone who has any information is asked to call PC Urwin at Barnard Castle Police on 0845 606 0365
