A MAN accused of rape threatened to distribute photographs of his victim naked, in her home town unless she continued to submit to sex with him, a court was told yesterday.
John Gibson had already left lewd pictures of the woman on her car and outside the home she shared with aged parents, but said he would issue more, it was claimed at Newcastle Crown Court.
It is alleged that that the 41-year-old raped the wom-an repeatedly, over months, and the final attack was captured on a secret video he had set up in his room.
The woman claims Mr Gibson bombarded her with calls and texts, threatening her and her family. She said she was forced to submit to sex to pacify him.
She told police Mr Gibson used weapons to enforce the threats, and when officers searched his home they found rifles, knives and knuckle-dusters.
Robin Patton, prosecuting, said: "He treated her like a piece of meat."
Mr Gibson, of Oak Crescent, Whitburn, South Tyneside, said the woman consented to sex. He told police he kept the firearms and knives as he was a keen huntsman and enjoyed fishing.
He denies ten charges of rape and one of intimidation.
The trial continues.
