MORE than 40 former members of a youth club have attended a reunion.
Rough Lea Methodist Youth Club, in Hunwick, near Willington, was open from 1944 to 1964 for dances, football and films, and former members met up again at the Victoria Organ Centre, in Howden-le-Wear.
Tom Musgrave, 77, from Hunwick, and Arnold Johnson, 74, from Spennymoor, organised the event.
"It was wonderful," said Mr Musgrave. "We had some old cinematic film of the club which we put on a projector. We had a buffet and a good chat."
The club was started by Walter Turnbull in 1944 and held every Wednesday.
It started with singing hymns in the chapel school room of the Rough Lea Methodist Church, and then moving to the Temperance Hall and then the social services centre.
Club members used to use two 35mm cinema projectors to show the latest releases.
