HUNDREDS of pounds worth of damage were caused when a garden was vandalised.
Geoffrey Wilkinson, 55, of Daly Street, Ferryhill, woke yesterday morning to be greeted by a scene of devastation outside his back door.
It is thought that the vandals struck on Wednesday night.
Police are also investigating an attack on a neighbouring allotment.
Mr Wilkinson said: "I went round the garden and there were bottles and bricks which had been thrown around the garden, and the greenhouse had been smashed in.
"It was total devastation. It's not just my garden, but another two gardens were damaged. Vandals have knocked the greenhouse down there as well."
Anybody with information on the vandalism attack is asked to telephone PC Blenkinsopp on 0845 606 0365.
