THE public of the Hambleton area are being asked to play their part in a district-wide No Crime Day.
Between 7am and midnight on Tuesday, police will be making a concentrated effort to reduce and deter as much crime as possible in the area.
In order to do so, the force intends to deploy large numbers of highly-visible officers across the district.
The force will be working with a number of other agencies during the initiative, including the fire and ambulance services, the Highways Agency and the Post Office.
And they are also asking members of the public to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity to them by contacting 0845 6060 247 or if urgent, 999.
Acting Inspector Peter Walker, in charge of the operation, said: "We want to deliver an effective service to members of our community.
"The public can play a major part in this and by working together with us we can reduce crime to a minimum and make Hambleton a safer place to live."
