PEOPLE in Middlesbrough have been able to pick up crime prevention tips along with their shopping.
A Crime Prevention Shop stocked with discount shed alarms and steering-wheel locks was set up in The Mall shopping centre, where specialists were on hand to tackle security and safety worries.
It was organised by Middlesbrough Council's crime reduction co-ordinator, Sue Willoughby, Gerry McBride, community safety manager for Safe in Tees Valley, and Phil Taylor, crime prevention officer with Cleveland Police.
The shop is open for the last time today, between 10am and 3.30pm.
Councillor Barry Coppinger, the council's executive member for community safety, said: "Drop-in shops like this are very successful in offering advice and help to residents. We hope residents were able to find out more about personal and property safety."
