MUSIC fans will have a double celebration at a concert tonight as part of a regional brass festival.
Norwegian jazz singer Karin Krog will star at a concert at Elvet Methodist Church in Durham City, joined by Northern Brass who will launch their double CD, Mixing it and Kicking the Traces, during the event.
The concert, part of Durham Brass Festival, starts at 7.30pm and will feature several specially-commissioned pieces performed by Northern Brass and written for Karin.
Ms Krog said: "Although we have a well-established tradition of military and marching bands in Norway, we do not have the special history of brass band music that you have in the UK, so I'm looking forward to experiencing and being part of that very special sound.
"It is a great honour to be invited to the Durham Brass Festival - all good music deserves to be celebrated and enjoyed in the best possible way.
"I have heard many great things about the warmth and hospitality of the people of Durham and I'm sure the festival will be a great success."
Tickets for the show are priced from £3 to £7 and are available on 0191-332 4041.
