A FLEET-FOOTED pet who raced her way into the Guinness Book of Records through 50 pairs of legs is to entertain television audiences on the other side of the world.
Border collie cross Fizzy's remarkable feat in completing the dash in just 2.1 seconds grabbed the attention of Japanese programme makers when her story appeared in The Northern Echo.
Now the dog's owner, veterinary nurse Donna Smith, needs the help of another 50 people to recreate Fizzy's triumph for a film crew next week.
The first time the canine star performed her run for the ITV programme the Animal Road Show, the cameraman needed several takes because she was so quick she appeared as a blur.
Ms Smith, who works for vet Paul Wilson's practice, in Tenters Street, Bishop Auckland, County Durham, said: "I'm not telling her about the filming. She doesn't get nervous, but she will be very excited once it starts."
Anyone who wants to join the human tunnel of legs is asked to contact Ms Smith on (01388) 602707. They should be taller than 5ft.
Filming starts at Bishop Auckland College on Friday at noon.
