ROADS in North Yorkshire claimed the life of another motorcyclist at the weekend.
The man, who has yet to be named, was riding a red Honda CBR 600 which was in collision with a silver BMW at about 4pm on Saturday.
The crash happened in the south of the county, on the Lotherton Hall to Sherburn-in-Elmet road.
The victim is believed to be from the York area, but has not been formally named as family have to be informed.
In recent years, the roads of North Yorkshire have become notorious for the number of motorcyclists and pillion passengers who have died in accidents.
Police and road safety officials have been working continuously to reduce the toll with high-profile campaigns and patrols.
Last year, 17 riders and passengers died. The year before, the figure was 28.
