A FARMER is to sponsor an award at a school after working with youngsters on his land.
Pupils from Wolsingham School and Community College have worked so hard at Bradley Hall Farm, Wolsingham, that Chris Stephenson will sponsor a prize for best course work next term.
Year ten youngsters have been working at the farm since January learning all aspects of the growth, harvesting, sorting and storage of potatoes. The pupils prepared the ground and planted the potato seeds.
Mr Stephenson will thank the students for their efforts by paying for a prize.
A school spokesman said: "Chris has been so impressed with the commitment of the pupils in the garden that he has chosen to sponsor a prize for the best course work. This prize will be presented at Wolsingham School in September."
