A RESTAURANT was left severely damaged after a blaze early yesterday afternoon.
The alarm was raised at Brio's Restaurant, on Commercial Street, Harrogate, shortly after 12.14pm and when the first fire unit arrived, the blaze was burning strongly.
The emergency response plan was activated and a total of eight fire appliances were eventually used at the scene.
It took one-and-a-quarter hours to bring the fire under control, but firefighters succeeded in preventing it spreading to neighbouring properties. The police were called in to assist, cordoning off the area.
No one was hurt in the fire, which is thought to have started in the kitchen and is not being regarded as suspicious.
