POLICE officers have flown into action to trace a missing swan with noble connections.
The flightless Polish White Mute, owned by Lord Gisborough, has not been seen since June 15.
It was spotted wandering around the Bow Street area of Guisborough, near Middlesbrough, on June 14, and was ushered to a nearby pond for safety. It was seen there the following day but has been missing since.
Lord Gisborough, a local aristocrat who owns the four-star Gisborough Hall Hotel, is extremely anxious to get the animal back.
PC Jackie Fieldhouse, of Cleveland Police, said last night: "At first it was thought the RSPCA had taken it away, but this is not the case.
"We would very much like to trace the swan and would welcome any information about its whereabouts."
