THE skills of contemporary mat-making will be outlined at a day-long workshop being staged by experts.
Gilesgate Community Association, in Durham, is offering the free course, suitable for people with some experience or complete novices.
All necessary frames and tools will be provided, but participants may want to provide their own wool-based fabrics to create a small piece of work to co-ordinate with the colour schemes of their choice.
The workshop will be at the association's Vane Tempest Hall, in Gilesgate, on Saturday, July 16, from 10am to 3pm. Places are limited. For details, call Karen Stott, on 0191-375 7824, or Philip Morris, on 0191-384 7505.
