Eric Thompson is going back to his roots as he celebrates 25 years as an artist.
Mr Thompson, 57, has chosen Locomotion: National Railway Museum, in Shildon, for an anniversary exhibition this weekend. He will display some of his work from the past 25 years.
The Spennymoor-based artist grew up in the railway town and said he wanted to go back to where he started to mark the milestone.
He said: "I was a Shildon lad and everybody I knew worked in the railways at the wagon works. It is good to go back where I started."
The exhibition, which runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, will feature steam train paintings, Mediterranean scenes, portraits and some new work.
He said: "It will not just be railways, but a whole range of things. Twenty five years is a long time but it is a great way to earn a living.
"Locomotion will be a great place for the exhibition. They have done a fantastic job and the exhibition gallery is fantastic."
