A NORTH Yorkshire church celebrates its centenary next month with a trip down memory lane and a series of services.
St Mark's Church, in Leeds Road, Harrogate, is staging an exhibition of events past and present from July 23 to 30.
The church will be open between 10am and noon and 3pm and 4.30pm daily.
There will be tours of the church, music and a children's centenary quiz.
On Saturday, July 23, cream teas will be served in the church from 3pm to 5pm.
Services to mark the 100th anniversary will be held on Sunday, July 24. There will be a communion service at 8am followed by an all-age celebration of communion led by the Bishop of Ripon and Leeds the Right Reverend John Packer, at 10.30am.
Then, at 6pm, a Centenary Praise will be held with an informal service including music and drama.
St Mark's was consecrated on July 29, 1905, and in 1997 underwent a major refurbishment and expansion.
The church says recent redevelopment is an expression of the living fath of its congregation and their commitment to Christian witness and service in the neighbourhood.
