TEENAGER Iayn Hall has been discovering what life is like behind the scenes at a museum.
The 14-year-old has been taking part in a two-week work experience programme at the Green Howards regimental museum, in Richmond.
A pupil at Risedale School, Hipswell, he has been working with museum assistant Paul Cooper and taken part in many aspects of the centre's work.
And that has ranged from researching the military careers of former members of the regiment for people undertaking family research, to making badges for visits by local schools.
"It's been great, and I've really enjoyed it," said Iayn. "Right from my first day, I've been involved in the real work of the museum, and I've learned a fantastic amount. Paul has been great, and I would really recommend anyone who has the chance to come here on work experience to grab it."
The museum regularly takes students on work experience, and also runs school days, when classes visit to learn about particular aspects of the past - particularly what it was like to be a soldier in the First World War.
