HOSPITAL patients are enjoying the summer sunshine following the complete refurbishment of their garden area.
Situated in a small courtyard area within the mental health unit of the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton, the garden provides patients with a quiet setting in which they can relax, take in the fresh air and enjoy the flowers.
The refurbishment cost about £1,500 to complete and was carried out in partnership with local charity Northdale Horticulture.
Ward manager Diane Weatherill said: "It is important that our patients who cannot leave the unit are able to experience a garden area while they are in hospital. It really is a pleasant area where people can come and enjoy a little peace and quiet."
