SCHOOLS, community groups and businesses will be rewarded for their environmental work next month.
Harrogate Borough Council is holding its annual Best Action for the Environment Road Show awards (Bafters) at the town's Swallow St George Hotel on July 4.
Prizes will be presented to the local school, community group and business that have shown the best environmental action over the past year.
Outstanding achievement awards for energy action and waste reduction will also be announced by BBC weatherman Paul Hudson.
He said: "As a weather forecaster, I am constantly reminded of the effects of climate change, when I see fiercer storms, floods, hotter temperatures and other extreme weather. That's why it's so important to take action now, and every one of us has a part to play.
"The Bafters awards are a great opportunity for local organisations to get the recognition they deserve for helping to protect and improve our environment."
