PUPILS are on their way to the national final of a maths and design competition.
Youngsters from Layfield Primary School, Yarm, will compete in the Maths in Motion national final at Jaguar's Castle Bromwich car factory, in Birmingham, on Wednesday.
They will make the trip after receiving a £200 donation from car dealer Reg Vardy Jaguar, in Stockton, towards their travel and accommodation.
Year five and six pupils Danielle Bulman, Dominic Loraine, James Sagar, and captain Georgina Smith will represent Layfield Primary against teams from nine schools. The school reached the national final after pupils designed a Formula 1 racing car, based on mathematical calculations.
