AN international musical line up has been assembled for an outdoor concert in one of the region's grandest back gardens next month.
The Bishop of Durham's estate at Auckland Castle, near Bishop Auckland, is the setting for a Proms in the Park event on Sunday, July 17.
Featuring the Cobweb Orchestra, a group of leading amateur musicians supported by the Sage, at Gateshead, it offers a programme of popular classical music aimed at a family audience.
Conductor Andy Jackson, who lives in Bishop Auckland, has brought in award-winning violinist Boriana Nakeva as orchestra leader.
The Bulgarian-born musician has performed all over the world and recently founded the Orchestra di Firenze in Italy.
She played at Bishop Auckland Town Hall in 2001.
Also on the bill is opera singer Lesley Ann Dawes, who is based in Weardale but spends much of her time performing overseas.
Tickets for the event are £5, £2. 50p for children and concessions and £12 for a family ticket.
