But there was no need to panic, as the hoodlums were schoolchildren dressed up for a production of the musical Bugsy.
The King's Academy pupils visited Middlesbrough's Stewart Park to recreate a 1920s picnic, complete with a Rolls-Royce - the a star of the television series Heartbeat.

The dream sequence filmed in the park yesterday will be shown during the staging of the play on July 7, 8 and 9.
