GOVERNMENT inspectors have concluded a Derwentside school has got high-quality teaching and learning following a visit to check on standards.
Ofsted inspectors visited Delves Lane Infant and Nursery School and said the quality of education was good.
They said it was a "good inclusive school, where the individual matters and all pupils receive effective support.'
Internet and communication technology (ICT) lessons were above average and pupils were thought to be achieving well.
The school was praised for its links with the community, good behaviour, and the very good leadership of headteacher Karen Holden.
Inspectors did feel the school needed to improve standards in science to match those in English, maths and ICT and as well as pupils' attendance and links with their parents.
Mrs Holden said: "The report is a tribute to the hard work and commitment of the staff, governors, pupils and parents.
"The points raised in the report have already been picked up in the school's management plan and are being addressed.
"It has recognised the progress already being made by the school and challenges us to continue and do even better."
