RUGBY fans in Durham are spoilt for choice of venues to view the eagerly-awaited British and Irish Lions test series in New Zealand.
The Lions face the All Blacks in the first test in Christchurch, tomorrow, but due to the time difference from the Antipodes, the match kicks off at 8.10am.
The Walkabout, an Australian theme pub in North Road, will open at 7.30am tomorrow and on the next two Saturdays, July 2 and 9, for the TV coverage of the series.
Rugby-mad students in the South Road college quarter in Durham have ensured a 110-ticket sell-out for tomorrow's first test, at the New Inn.
The doors open at 7am, with ticket-holders tucking in to a full cooked breakfast before kick-off.
But, tickets are available for similar fare for the following two Saturday tests, at £5 each, which can be booked in person from the Church Street Heads hostelry, or by ringing (0191) 3746901.
