A Darlington school will have a samba feel to it next month as pupils get a taste of South America.
Haughton Community School's performing arts department will hold a Brazilian arts festival from Monday, July 11, to Friday, July 15.
Throughout the week, the students will take part in workshops and try a range of arts activities with a Brazilian theme.
Activities on offer will include drumming, dancing, and singing, as well as making costumes, sculpture, make-up, photography and textile printing.
Pupils will also devise and produce a show, which will be performed in Darlington town centre on the Friday.
Performing arts director Jo Rose said: "The arts festival will give our year eight students a unique opportunity to learn about another culture, develop their creative skills and build their confidence.
"We have been fortunate in gathering a very strong team to help with the workshops. This will be a very special event."
