TRADING standards officers are joining forces with supermarkets to promote a series of healthy eating exhibitions.
The displays will advise shoppers on how to get the most out of the nutritional information displayed on packaged foods and will give advice on the optimum level of salt to consume.
One of the displays will be at the Somerfield store, in Northallerton, from Monday.
Councillor John Fort, the county council's executive member for trading standards, said: "The exhibitions are a great way to help residents to learn more about food nutrition, which is at the heart of healthy lifestyles.
"It is important that the exhibitions are seen by as many people as possible and therefore placing them in supermarkets and community resource centres is ideal."
