Before the season has even started Darlington are looking to reschedule two home fixtures, but they are asking supporters to decide when they want to see the games that clash with upcoming England internationals.
When the league fixtures were released last Thursday they handed Quakers home games on September 3 (Notts County) and October 8 (Macclesfield), both due to be played at the same time as England World Cup qualifiers.
England play Wales at the Millennium Stadium when Notts County visit the Williamson Motors Stadium and a month later England host Austria when Quakers are at home to Macclesfield.
To avoid a clash Darlington plan to change the dates of both games to either 1pm kick-offs or the Friday evening.
Friday night football is something Quakers have rarely experienced, but rivals Hartlepool usually see an increase in attendances when they have switched home fixtures to Fridays.
Votes on the issue are being taken via text message until noon on Friday, July 1. If you wish to see Quakers play on the Friday night text DARL FRIDAY to 88442. If you prefer the 1pm kick-off on the Saturday, text DARL SATURDAY to 88442. Texts are charged at the standard rate and you will receive a message back confirming your choice. Fans can use Vodafone, T-Mobile, 02 and Orange phones.
Manager David Hodgson said: "Fans will want to see our matches as well as England and we want to know what their preference is on how to do that.''
