A NORTH Yorkshire timber company has appointed a manager at its newly-constructed sales centre.
Robert Timmens, 39, from Darlington, has joined North Yorkshire Timber (NYT) as manager of its sales centre at Northallerton.
He has worked in the timber industry since leaving school and was previously the branch manager for Jewsons in Darlington.
Mr Timmens said: "The opportunity to set up NYT's new, purpose-built sales centre was just too good to miss.
"I'm looking forward to being closer to the management of the business and being part of a firm with a family feel."
Nick Kershaw, NYT's sales and marketing director, said: "Robert is a timber man with considerable sales experience too, and fits NYT perfectly.
"He will help us to continue to develop our sales and new markets, as well as growing our customer base.
The company was established in 1979 and its new sales centre at Northallerton Business Park has a 5,000sq ft sales area, 12,000sq ft internal storage and 22,000sq ft of external storage.
