TEENAGE sea cadet Matthew Price is setting sail for the experience of a lifetime.
The 16-year-old, from Guisborough, will take part in the Trafalgar 200 celebrations in Portsmouth this week.
He is one of nine Sea Cadets selected and trained to bring an authentic touch of Nelson's Navy - with their own square-rigged sailing ship TS Royalist.
The teenagers, from the UK's oldest nautical youth charity, will hark back two centuries when they play a leading role in the International Fleet Review on board Royalist, a replica from the days of rope and sail.
The nine sea cadets will man the vessel as she sails with the flotilla of tall ships.
During an evening performance on TS Royalist, Matthew will take part in a spectacular re-enactment of the Battle of Trafalgar - complete with cannon fire.
Matthew said: "I feel very honoured to have been chosen to take part in these exciting events. It's amazing to think that we'll be sailing in the same way as Nelson, but 200 years later!"
