A ROCK concert has left young people wanting more events like it.
For the first time, the Bedale and Villages Community Plan Forum arranged a Battle of the Bands rock concert to complement the town's annual Scout and Guide fete, on Saturday.
Organisers said the day was a huge success, attracting more than 1,000 people.
It began with a parade through Bedale, won by the 2nd Crakethorpe Guides on their "cavegirl" float.
There were also workshops to create a banner that decorated the Battle of the Bands stage.
Five North Yorkshire bands performed. The first prize - a day's recording time at The Studio, in Hartlepool, sponsored by Dalesprint Supplies - went to Bedale College band White Fire.
Catherine Megson, of the events working party, said she had already had lots of feedback from young people who said they wanted to see more events like it.
She said: "We're very pleased with the whole day."
