PREPARATIONS are well under way for a grand summer show.
Great Aycliffe Show will be held on Bank Holiday weekend, August, Saturday 27, and Sunday 28, at Oakleaf Sports Complex, Newton Aycliffe.
The event has returned to its original date, on which it has been held since 1982, and this year the horticultural section has returned.
Other attractions include hand-craft exhibitions, football, golf and badminton tournaments for youngsters, rabbit and cavy shows, a goat milking competition, music and a fairground.
The show is organised and funded mainly by Great Aycliffe Town Council and regularly attracts about 20,000 people.
Entry is free to pedestrians, but there is a parking charge of £1 per vehicle.
