GO green is the message to people visiting Darlington market today as a campaign to clean up the town continues.
A Darlington Borough Council team is on hand all day, offering advice on recycling and how to be more environmentally friendly.
Council staff will also provide information on litter clearing, and will be giving away portable ashtrays to remind smokers that they can be fined for dropping cigarette butts.
The stall is part of the council's 100-day "Grot Spot" Clean-Up initiative, and information about how to get in touch with the clean-up team to report dirty areas will be given out today.
