VILLAGERS turned out in force in the weekend sunshine for a recently revived gala which has won a regular place in the summer calendar.
Saturday's Coundon Gala was the third gala organised by Coundon and Leeholme Community Partnership and it attracted more than 500 people.
Coundon Comets Jazz Band led a parade through the streets to Leeholme Recreation Ground.
Martin the Magician, from Seaton Delaval, Northumberland, entertained spectators on the way and later gave a show.
On the field there were birds of prey, children's games, fancy dress, a tug of war, bouncy castle, stalls and a five-a-side football competition for youngsters aged between seven and 18.
Eight-year-old Ryan Stewart was named player of the tournament.
A shop window competition with a VE Day theme was won by Kurlisee's food bar.
