POLICE were looking for an injured man yesterday after a pool of blood was found outside next to a smashed shop window.
The man was seen nearby after a large window worth £200 was shattered at Allen Jenkins' decor shop, in Galgate, Barnard Castle.
Insp Kevin Tuck, head of Teesdale police, said yesterday: "The man must have been cut quite badly as he lost quite a lot of blood. Forensic tests are now being carried out."
He said police would like to hear about anyone who had needed treatment for a bad cut in the last few days, or from anyone who witnessed the incident.
To help, telephone police on 0845-606 0365.
