MEMBERS of the Canadian Air Force have visited an RAF base to remember those who fought in the Second World War.
The 415 Squadron crew from Greenwood, Nova Scotia, flew to RAF Leeming in a Lockhead Aurora to take part in the East Moor Squadrons' commemoration ceremony at the memorial, in Sutton-on-the-Forest, near York.
Three Canadian squadrons were based at East Moor during the Second World War, including 415, 429 and 432. The visit by 415 was particularly timely as the squadron is due to be amalgamated with another over the next few weeks.
The visit by the Canadian aircrew also included a tour of RAF Leeming and a visit to the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington, near York.
