A PROJECT is under way to give North Yorkshire businesses access to IT training.
The Vipex Vector demonstration vehicle will give electronics companies onsite training relevant to their business.
The scheme is operated by Electronics Yorkshire, the body set up to promote digital industry in the county. It is funded by regional development agency Yorkshire Forward and the Learning and Skills Council.
The vehicle took more than three months to build, and can cater for workshop groups of up to ten people and seminars for up to 20.
Peter Burnley, training and technology centre manager at Electronics Yorkshire, said: "We are delighted to be able to give local electronics companies even greater access to training and development.
"We realise that it is not always easy or practical to send employees on training courses to either our Leeds or Sheffield centres, so the new mobile training unit provides us with a simple solution."
