A NORTH-EAST university will hold a popular open day today.
Staff and students at the University of Sunderland will give visitors an idea of what it is like to study at the university.
Prospective students will also be able to discuss student finance and receive careers guidance, as well as find out about the support, accommodation and other resources and facilities the university has.
There are tours of the city and the facilities every 30 minutes and free accommodation for those travelling some distance.
There will also be sessions to explain new student finance arrangements that come into force for anyone who will enrol after September next year.
The university recently announced a £14m package for Sunderland students, which includes a £1,000 scholarship over three years for every student.
Additionally, anyone whose household income is less than £33,000 a year will receive a further £500 a year from the university.
The event, at the Prospect Building at The Sir Tom Cowie Campus, at St Peter's, is from 9am to 3pm.
People who are unable to attend can call 0191-515 3000.
