ROBBIE FITZPATRICK'S career is firmly back on track partnering the likes of Catterick-bound Strensall (3.00).

Having enjoyed tremendous success towards the end of the nineties, Fitzpatrick's star then gradually faded, a fate that sadly befalls so many former leading apprentice jockeys these days.

But rather than pack up, the young Irishman has kept his nose clean and he showed when booting Strensall to victory at Thirsk last week he's lost none of his old dash.

With only a 6lbs penalty to shoulder for the win, plus the handy advantage of a low draw, Ronnie Barr's in-form sprinter could be a hard horse to pass come the climax of the Project Management Handicap.

Noel Wilson has worked wonders with Acomb, who has won his three most recent races in electrifying fashion by running his rivals ragged from the front.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and it seems like the Official Handicapper has now cooked his goose since Acomb must carry a whopping 12lbs more than when making all to score at Epsom seven days ago.

If indeed he is anchored by the extra weight, then track specialist, Jubilee Street (3.30), is surely the one waiting to pounce and so help backers in their eternal struggle against the bookmakers.

Ann Duffield's gelding has struck no less than four times at the course in the past, an excellent record which demonstrates his enviable ability to handle the bottom bend, a sharp left-hand corner which regularly unbalances many horses and jockeys.

With Tim Easterby's team in such superb fettle, he could more-than-likely win with the stable cat.

That said, Easterby's efforts to try and squeeze a race out of Colonial Girl (4.30) has thus far fallen on stoney ground, although she probably had a valid excuse when arguably unsuited by a soft surface at Ripon on her latest outing.

Colonial Girl ran far better to finish in second spot over today's track and trip the time before, a repeat of which would in all probability be sufficient to take the Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

According to Hilltime's elevated jumps' rating of 120, he should be a steering job in the closing a mile-and-a-half event.

John Quinn's five-year-old is clearly a different proposition with eight flights of hurdles to face, however, even though he's not anything like as good on the level, the Malton raider should still have too much class for the lowly-rated opposition in the Stockton Handicap.

For the nap we make a rare sortie to Worcester in the hope that Achilles Wings (4.10) can maintain his renaissance.

Having spent a couple of years in the wilderness, Achilles Wings made light of 11-1 odds by slamming a useful field earlier this month. He knows his way round the Midlands' venue and might yet prove a tough nut to crack in his bid to follow-up.
