THE parents of a six-year-old girl who told them she was sexually assaulted confronted her alleged attacker, a court was told.
Michael Hauxwell admitted having a pornographic magazine, but denied touching the youngster when her parents visited his Darlington home.
Teesside Crown Court was told the couple, who cannot be named, went to the defendant's house after the girl said Mr Hauxwell carried out a sex act on her and showed her adult material on his mobile.
She also told them she had seen his genitals. Her ten-year-old brother said the 19-year-old had shown him an adult movie.
In written statements read to the court, the girl's mother said they visited the home he shares with his parents in Crossfield Road, to confront him about the allegations.
She said: "He said he had not touched her and that he looked at her like a little sister. I said we would contact police and he said, 'do what you have to do'. He appeared composed, I thought it was a double bluff."
The children's parents contacted the NSPCC and the police following the confrontation.
Mr Hauxwell denies attempted rape and sexual assault of the girl and three counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act.
The trial continues.
