A 28-YEAR-OLD man arrested by police investigating the death of a biker in a hit and run incident has been released on bail.
The man, from Thirsk, was arrested on Monday and taken to Northallerton police station, in North Yorkshire, before being bailed pending further inquiries.
He was questioned in connection with the death of 67-year-old Ralph Snowdon, from Riccall, near York. Mr Snowdon died on May 28 following a collision on the B1257 Helmsley to Stokesley Road, near Chop Gate, North Yorkshire.
His bike was allegedly forced off the road by an oncoming motorcyclist, who did not stop at the scene.
Since then, police have been appealing for information about the crash. They visited locations popular with bikers all over North Yorkshire and took their investigation to the British Superbikes meeting at Croft the following weekend.
Mr Snowdon's daughter, Mandy, of Dringhouses, York, said she was pleased with the way the investigation was going and thanked officers for their help.
